Talk to a purist and he’s likely to tell you that bowling isn’t what it was twenty-five or thirty years ago. Back then Glenn Allison bowled three consecutive 300 games, the first recorded in a sanctioned league, though ultimately it was disallowed because officials cited non-complying lane conditions at La Habra 300 Bowl in California.

Today they say it’s easier to bowl a 300 (that’s twelve strikes in a row) because of all the technical improvements to bowling equipment and lane conditions. But for the average Joe, the everyday individual who just likes to get out there and have a good time, what’s on the grill in the snack shop is probably more important than what oil pattern is on the lane.
