"2D or not 2D," a new art show featuring the work of Jerry Jacoby, N. Byram Luth, Margie Schimenti, and Pete Wroblewski will be on display at the Artists' Cooperative Gallery from September 1st through the 26th.

Check out the opening reception hosted by the "2D or not 2D" artists on September 4th from 7-10pm at the gallery!

Jerry Jacoby is an Omaha painter whose style ranges from abstract to traditional. A Lincoln native, Jacoby earned a master’s in art from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and has been involved in Omaha’s art and music communities for more than 30 years. Several companies in the region have purchased his paintings and his work is held in private collections from Los Angeles to Scotland.

    N. Byram Luth's current work is a mix of nonrepresentational paintings with collages dealing with abstract social problems: family, friends, relationships, priorities, and life changes. She teaches middle school art at Lewis Central in Council Bluffs.

Margie Schimenti’s color photographs are visual observations of the urban environment. “Surface textures and observations on the use of space in the urban scene are part of the photographic compositions,” she says. Schimenti lives and teaches in Omaha.

Pete Wroblewski is intrigued by Greek, Roman and Egyptian mythology. He explores the characters, myths and legends of different cultures and interprets their figures, ideas and stories. He also has begun to look to nature. Two new pieces, Chrysalis and Belladonna, were inspired by natural processes. Most of his work is figurative and in bronze, using the lost wax method.
